salaryman: (give 'em a show)

Did my Kamui reach out to you?

[ It is odd to have to word it like that, but that is the way to word it, isn't it?

There is a spiraling amount of questions that want to come out next. "Or did he reach out to you?" "Have you heard of someone talking about him?" "He's very difficult to avoid hearing anything from, hm?" But those are through the connection itself rather than asked. More like anxiety and worry actually affecting the otherwise apathetic salaryman. ]

[ Ha...ha. ]

Yes.

[ Best get to the point. ]

I've been seeing him a lot recently... and he's been wanting me to work.

[ Another hesitant laugh. But isn't that odd? He's said before he didn't need them do anything. But realistically, logically, in a place where he cannot use all his powers - he would have to recant on what he's said and demand assistance. So it makes sense? It makes sense. But he also is weary and tired. ]
salaryman: (give 'em the old hocus-pocus)

[ It'd be pointless to say "everywhere" and "all the time," because it's not true. It just feels that way. How is it that he's done so well to avoid him only to be unable to anymore? ]

A few days ago. [ He flicks his finger to the side, like a gesture to the beginning of the week. ] It was while I was looking for Sasaki. [ But nevermind that -- his Nightmare may be gone and that is unfortunate, but his current situation is much more troublesome. ]

Then on and off since then. Usually asking if I've been doing what he asked.

True enough.

[ He holds his chin, feeling some senses coming back to him, but only some. ]

Kamui has always known how to use any occult working no matter how complicated. But would that ability of his still be present crossing over here? [ Anyway -- ]

Right. Subaru is much more useful than I am.

[ Thank god for being a 9-5 employee versus someone who willingly does OT even when the boss never asks for it. ]

Even I would be remiss not to recognize my own superior, regardless of how much time has passed.

[ A soft hm. ]

Then ... an illusion? I suppose you would be best to ask.

[ He has been acting rather foolish in concern that Kamui asked him to work. How embarrassing if true. But if it isn't true, what then? ]

If Kamui is here, he'd be without his usual power. His attention on us might increase because we're his people. But it is odd if Subaru and Kamui haven't been bothered. [ Holds chin. ] However, would either of them tell us about it? They seem like the types that would swallow up any discomfort and let themselves be his focus rather than drag anyone else into their mess.

Very kind - but also incredibly upsetting for those of us that get jumpscared slacking off.

Ah, good news--

[ Well. ] No.

[ Lightly tapping the tips of his fingers together. ] I also collapsed from anemia. It's a shame I can't use other people's blood.

[ Ha-ha... ha. ]
salaryman: (how can they see)

[personal profile] salaryman 2026-02-16 01:29 am (UTC)(link)
How should I put it?

[ Hmm! ]

When I start to think of how I'm going to explain what happened, I'm afraid it sounds very silly. [ But he's already wasting Seishirou's time - so why not waste it some more? ] I thought to show my fealty to Kamui would be best done by breaking up some building.

I wasn't able to do much, however. [ Another soft laugh, strained. ] I continue to be impressed by the work others have done before me.

Someone might've come along, but then again, maybe not?

[ Hard to say? If Kamui wasn't real -- ]

Lack of sleep and sudden overtime does lead to a difficulty in remembering little things.

[ A soft sigh. ]

What a relief.

[ Ah. ]

That isn't very nice to say, I suppose.

[ Another pause. ]

I should've come crying to you sooner.

About?

[ ..........?

..........! ]
salaryman: (how can they see)

3/3

[personal profile] salaryman 2026-02-16 02:54 am (UTC)(link)
I'm sorry.

Where are my manners? How are you? Have you seen anything unpleasant?

[ He should be more concerned about Seishirou?? ]
salaryman: (what if your hinges all are rusting?)

[personal profile] salaryman 2026-02-16 04:47 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah - sorry.

I'm only asking those questions to be polite.
salaryman: (what if your hinges all are rusting?)

[personal profile] salaryman 2026-02-16 07:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Aha - I'm embarrassed how transparent I am to you.

It makes me feel shy after all my crying.
