While he's anemic and weakened, the city is filled with people who want others to survive. He'll live on - or he won't. Anxiety creeps up and palms may be sweaty, but he reassures himself about these two things. He'll die or he won't.
He hopes to not die, because he wants to see the end of all the machinations - Sleep's, One's and his band, the Vessels, everyone's. It seems only fair; he missed the Final Battle so fate and destiny owes him this much.
But he does pause at what Seishirou has said - and that brings a sobering feeling that he isn't quite sure what to do with. ]
